Tamaki Int - Girls League Tag Finals

On Wednesday 26th November 2008 the Girls League Tag team travelled to Cornwall Park to compete in the Interzone Girls Tag Finals - which consisted of the top eight Auckland Girls League Tag teams. Our first game was against Glen Eden Intermediate, it was a close game but we were very happy to win 4-3. Our second game was against Kedgley Intermediate. It was a hard game and we lost 2-7. Our last pool game was against Northcross Intermediate. It was a very close game as we were leading 3-1 with not long remaining. They scored twice near the end to draw the game 3-3 which just edged us out of the semi-finals. We did enough to qualify for the plate finals and had to play Weymouth Intermediate. We didn't put our best effort in to the last game for the season and we lost 2-6. The Girls were very proud to be the only East Auckland Qualifiers for the Finals, and came 6th in all of Auckland. Report by Cecilia. Camera work on the day by Maggie and Gaifo. The tries in these highlights were scored by Valeria and Katrina.

Well we were really pleased to come 6th given that it was the Auckland finals and our Eastern Zone Athletics team were otherwise engaged at Ericisson Stadium on the same day... thanks for your support!
