One of our extra curriculum activity that students from our school are involved in at the moment is Netball at Morrin Road in Panmure on Tuesday night. This is the highlights of the Y8 game against Dio on Tuesday 1st of July (although if you listen carefully you might hear a small mistake made by a presenter who describes it as June 1st!). Its presented by Moli and Sosaia from Room Six and features some familiar faces that you might recognise from the Girls Basketball team that plays on Thursday night... the team is looking forward to the first week of next term when we compete in the Eastern Zone Netball Finals. All sport at Tamaki Intermediate against other schools usually takes place in the Eastern Zone. The Eastern Zone is a competition that contains 36 schools altogether stretching from down town to the far reaches of East Auckland. There are 16 schools in the main draw and another 20 in 'sub' groups. If we win that competition we have an opportunity to go to the Auckland Champion of Champions Finals and compete against the other eight Auckland Zone winners. Already this year we've had wins in Y7 Girls Softball, Open Grade Girls Rugby and Under 55kg Girls Rugby. Our Netball teams have a proud tradition at the Eastern Zone Finals particularly the Boys who achieved the 'double' and won both tournaments in 2006!
