This is Katrina's solo Cook Island Dance. Katrina was a member of our schools Cook Island group that took part in the School trip to Raratonga in 2008 (and are scheduled to go again in 2009). Filmed at the 2008 Tamaki Intermediate Haka Waiata Festival which was held at our School Hall on Friday 5th December 2008. Filmed by Victor.

This is an AWESOME dance. I seem to have 2 left feet and struggle to remember steps. You must have rehearsed a lot to get this good. The best thing is-- it looks like you are really enjoying yourself!
Mr f.
Well the students culture is very important and in Katrina's case her parents taught her the dance. Her facial expressions are an important part of the dance, dancers have to look happy when performing!
