After first winning 31-14 against the Ellerslie/Panmure team, our Open Grade Boys then suffered consecutive losses to Pakuranga (0-14) and then Remuera (5-31). This meant that they qualified for the Eastern Zone Semi-Finals but had to play against the number one qualifiers Howick Intermediate School.
