Tamaki Int. - Edublogs Nomination

We were very thrilled today to hear that we have made the short list for the 2008 Edublogs Awards. We were lucky to be nominated by Mr C from Mr C's Class Blog in the catergory of best use of Video. The awards are voted on until December 21st and the students are all excited to think of all the extra visitors that will be passing through in the next few weeks!

Hey there,

Congratulations on your nomination! That's huge!

I am a kiwi teacher teaching at an international school in Singapore. The kids I teach are from all over the world. It'd be great to organise something collaboratively between our two schools. Let me know if you're interested.

It was nice to see a taste of home on your blog. Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for the comment - we'd love to network although the year in New Zealand is nearly at an end just over two weeks to go. Maybe at the start of next year?

I am very happy you made the short list of nominees. You truly are among the best of video production for education that I have seen. It was an honor to nominate you.

I know you have a channel on teachertube that you use to aggregate your videos, does it have a widget you can place on your blog so people can find them easily? I use vodpod http://wmchamberlain.vodpod.com/ to aggregate my videos and it makes it easy for people to check out my videos easily.

Congratulations on your nomination, your videos look very professional.

I have a question for you. What software do you use to make/edit your videos? What format do you export/save your videos in? I try to make mine as small as possible and keep reasonable quality, but still end up using about 5mb per minute.

@ KG great to make contact with Singapore as we haven't had a huge amount of visitors from there. We'd love to network at some stage in the future.
@ Room 10 - we still have a huge way to go to match the success of your blog
@ Mrs Burt thanks so much for your help this blog wouldn't have been possible without you.
@ WM Chamberlain I haven't used it before but I am doing so today.
@ Glenview - we do everything with MicrosoftMovieMaker. I photostoried a picture at the start (its from Victoria street in Hamilton my Auckland Schools Uniform draped over a Hamilton landmark) and added to it. I know there's a lot better software around and that but I wanted to keep in simple and have all the kids doing it. We reduce the size of the movies to things in the 28meg range so they can get uploaded to Blogger.
